Coupled (united) Fluiddynamical Models for the disinfection processes and the effectiveness in UV - Light - Reactors
- From a theoretical point of view microbiological, biophysical, optical and fluiddynamical models are coupled which enables in the case of use sophisticated numerical simulations. Such a model is called Coupled Fluiddynamical Model (CFM) or Coupled Fluiddynamical Models. The scientific aim was reached by the formulation of the system of gouverning equations on the basis of the Navier-Stokes-Equations, Lambert-Beer-Equation, Henderson-Equations, Chickwatson- Relation and the Equation of Photobiological Sensibility. The Coupled Fluiddynamical Model was numericaly tested with a theoretical UV-light-reactor, type {A-1-0}, and with digital mock-ups of real UV-light-reactors, type (A-1-7) and type (A-1-7)big. The UV-light-reactors, type (A-1-7), are in use for the disinfection of potable water. Furthermore, the CFM was successfully validated by comparing the CFM-results with the results of models such as Cylindrical Wave Model and the Point-Source-Summation-Method. The results of this scientific work – Coupled Fluiddynamical Models (CFM) - should be integrated in existing CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)-computer-codes which already implement a Particle Tracing. Due to CFM, it is also possible to create a spread-sheet-solution on the basis of simple flow profiles in connection with a Computer-Algebra-System (MAPLE, MATHEMATICA) and Origin Professional. Many designs of UV - light - reactors which are in use in Germany are scrutinized and rated. On the basis of the details of the technological design of the reactors and of the plasma-light-sources a classification for any type of UV-light-reactors was developed.…
